Go-Green at your wedding with Aahana Resort
Weddings bring everyone together. Then why should you drop mother nature out of the guest list and miss the opportunity to be blessed by her? The go green mantra has been the talk of the town for a while now but not many wedding venues are part of green initiatives. We bring to you the beautiful Aahana Resort, a truly green venue to begin your happily ever after.
Spread over 11 acres, Aahana resort is situated near the Bijrani zone of Corbett National Park. Aahana hasover 50 plus room on its lush green property. The resort has villas and single rooms for you to choose from. The villas oversee the forest from its windows and the single rooms open into the green spaces of the resort. The accommodations have beautiful wooden interiors that will keep you cozy and relaxed. The architecture of the rooms is planned in such a way that all rooms get enough sunlight during the day so that the lights in the room can be switched off! Personally, I have a couple of favourite green initiatives from the resort but one that made me smile endlessly was their bamboo soap dispenser. All the rooms have soap dispensers that made of bamboo! A supremely cute card on your bedside requests you to ask the housekeeping staff not to get your bedsheets changed every morning if you feel they are clean, since it takes couple of buckets of water to wash these bedsheets. The size of the room is enough for you to have a small after party of your own during your wedding festivities. But we hope you will be inspired by your surroundings and be a little eco-friendly yourself! The wooden interiors of the resort are not only cozy but many of the artefacts have wonderful stories behind them just like your adorable love story.
The source of many of their vegetables is their own organic garden, which you will cross on your way to the rooms. The organic garden has various vegetables such as cabbage and coriander. The food menu is delectable and extensive. It even has delicious local dishes along with other cuisines. It’s an experience to have dinner at their pool side restaurant with greenery all around you and live music. The resort has various trees on its property such as the sindoor tree – as the name suggests, this is where sindoor comes from. It also has small plants of lemongrass and odomos all around to keep the mosquitos away and trust me its profusely effective. Their other green initiatives include – a food waste management system, bio gas plant, sewage management plant and their own gaushala! All these plants are odour less and will not interfere in your festivities.
If you really want to have a green wedding then this is the place to be. From its surroundings to its daily chores everything blends ‘green’ in the most aesthetic sense. So, say ‘I do’ in the lap of mother nature.
