Add the Rice sparkle in your hair and strengthen it as well

A few weeks ago I received a press kit that included a range of products made of rice. It was of much interest to me because as a child I have used rice regularly on my skin but never on my hair. For ages in my family I have been told to use rice husk as an important ingredient for face scrub. “Use rice powder on your face for a perfect glow,” my father would always tell me giving me examples of Burmese women using rice scrub and paste as mask. He had spent a major part of his young life in Burma
So this kit came neatly packed in a box, consisting of rice shampoo and conditioner, rice water hair mask, fermented rice hair oil, foaming hair wash enriched with tea tree, aloe vera and fenugreek which was again interesting as I have always used fenugreek seed tempered hot hair oil every winters and I can literally swear by its health properties coming straight out of the kitchen. The box also had a kalonji black onion seed oil.

I was raring to use the products because
a) It was rice products and we all are very aware of its powerful properties whether applying on the skin or eating it as food
b) the other two products were made of ingredients that one has grown up using

Here’s what I felt

After trying the shampoo and conditioner for a couple of times I felt the fragrance to be slightly on the softer side. If you are used to intense fragrance like say that of a jasmine, rose, lavender or marigold you might be a little disappointed. But what it lacks in fragrance it makes up with its other properties. For example I felt a distinct difference in my hair fall. I dreaded combing my hair with the constant hair fall, some how using the product had reduced the hairfall.

The haircare is inspired from the traditional home remedies of Korea, Japan and South East Asian countries and packed with the essential amino acids, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, minerals and antioxidants, the products offer hair health benefits such as smooth, shiny, detangled, strong and long hair. They contain allantoin known for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as proteins that help in strengthening of the hair shaft and filling in the cracks. Additionally, rice water hair treatment reduces friction, increases elasticity and closes the cuticle leaving hair extra shiny.

For the founders, the inspiration to include fermented rice water in the haircare range came from their grandmother. On researching closely, co founder Stuti Kothari realised that this magical potion had been used for centuries in various countries for hair treatment. For example in early centuries, women in Japan had floor-length hair and they kept them healthy by bathing them in rice water. A modern day testimonial can be found in China where Yao women are famous for having hair that averages 6 feet long. Amzingly they do not begin to get gray hair until they reach their 80s, all credit to the fermented rice hair water. But what’s important in the process, she says is using the technique with appropriate proportion and fermentation duration. The ready to use WishCare Fermented Rice Water Hair Care range allows the masses to take benefit of this formula, developed under expert supervision.”

I can say it is safe to use the hair care products, having used it myself as they are made from natural ingredients with no sulphates, paraben, silicones, chemicals or salts making it extremely safe. Their hair care range is suitable for both men and women & for all hair types.

If you are looking for range of products that are healthy and budget friendly to make your hair shine and strengthen before your wedding these products would be apt. The product range starts from INR 445 onwards and can be bought on mywishcare.com as well as Amazon & Flipkart.
